Rick: It's very good that there is a major revamping of DOEd.

That said, President Trump is NOT a K-12 education expert, and he has been misadvised. Fact 1: There is not a single State that is doing a quality job re K-12 education. None. Fact 2: 95% of this is due to the States, not DOEd.

So, to give States more money and more power is akin to giving an alcoholic a weekly case of beer. It is completely non-sensical.

Linda McMahon has the power to: a) fire every deadbeat in DOEd, b) hire competent replacements for DOEd, c) determine what policies that DOEd engages in, and d) has control of some $80 Billion of annual discretionary DOEd spending.

She should do all four of those things to set an example for States and to assist them by doing research regarding the 12+ major problems with the K-12 education system. This would be completely voluntary, as no State would have to follow DOEd's recommendations.
