This article seems really one-sided:

- You fail to mention that the snow quickly turned to ice/ snowcrete that made it hard to clear, and this type of storm has rarely (if ever?) hit this area.

- Given those conditions, how can you expect walkers and bikers to get to school? Teachers?

- You can't just move teacher workdays to snow days, especially given union contracts. Also, many teachers are watching their own children during work days.

- Research shows that it's better to have a snow day where all kids miss school than to have a school day where some kids don't show because of weather. https://www.hks.harvard.edu/research-insights/policy-topics/education-training-and-labor/effect-snow-days-student-performance

- Beyond that, there are snow days built into the calendar, so schools will still be open for the needed number of instructional days. If we have snow days, we should use them.
